Flip & Pass Part 1

This project demonstrates how social anxiety disorders and fears affect people's lives and manifest psychologically. How the emotional and inner changes caused by social anxiety disorder affect their lives and the way they see the world. The reason why I wanted to do a topic about social anxiety disorder is because some of my friends suffer from social anxiety disorder. They are afraid of talking to waiters in restaurants, and they experience fear, anxiety, and physiological reactions such as nausea in social situations they must face. After searching, I found that social anxiety will cause them to have negative thoughts such as low self-evaluation, and if its continued develop it will seriously affect their physical and mental health. These problems affect their lives and make their lives more difficult than other people. I will try to use different methods to conduct a series of attempts, based on photography, combined with painting, animation, photograms, performance art, social experiments, documentary photography to convey the physiological and psychological aspects of patients with social anxiety disorder and emotional feeling that those people suffered.
Whether or not others see them, a person suffering from social anxiety will be apprehensive about what people will think of him. Although we cannot look inside other people's minds, we may sense their opinions of us based on their words, emotions, and gaze. I decided to use my eyes to create some visuals to show how people with social anxiety disorder experience this unseen tension. Every set of eyes that looks at these haphazard forms perceives them as elusive and like a black hole, which fills them with unending bad thoughts. Language has a tremendous amount of power and may directly affect people's sentiments and experiences in a positive or bad way. Socially anxious people are extremely perceptive. Individuals who suffer from social anxiety are extremely perceptive, particularly when confronted with novel circumstances, a large crowd, and whispers, remarks, or discussions directed toward them. Their remarks have the power to really harm them, leaving them feeling helpless and intimidated in public. The colours red and black are chosen in particular because red may evoke strong, ominous, and scary feelings in individuals.
People with social phobia typically seek to "hide" in unexpected public settings, surreptitiously scan their surroundings, and devise strategies for being somewhat comfortable in the given circumstance, all out of a dread of strangers and unfamiliar circumstances. This can further ensnare them in social phobia, leading to intense anxiety and tension, as they dread being seen or receiving too much attention.
After taking some street photography I marked the distance between people in the photos and then overlaid them on top of each other to show the complexity of social distance between people in public places. Animation is used to connect various links to show that the dynamic distance between people outdoors is constantly changing.
